How did you indoctrinate yourself today?

Most people don't like to think of themselves of having been indoctrinated. We prefer to think of ourselves as 100% free thinking, independent personalities. The maxim "you are what you eat" applies to more than just food though.

We are all products of what we surround ourselves with and what we allow into our minds. Have you ever known a really negative person? Notice how everything in their life seems to revolve around negativity and drama? Notice how they attract other negative people to themselves like a magnet?

Let's be honest, staying positive and focused all the time takes a little work. Seeds of doubt are like sneaky ninjas, attacking
from the shadows when you are most vulnerable. This is why it is so important that we focus on only allowing positive people, positive thoughts and positive actions into our lives.

The law of attraction says you will get in life what you are focused on. In other words, the universe wants to give you what you want. The problem is we constantly send out mixed signals.

If I want to create monetary wealth but I keep focusing on how I am in debt or wishing I wasn't in debt then what I am really focusing on? Debt! So what am I going to get more of? Debt!

Every time a thought about debt enters my mind I HAVE to be conscious of it and block it out. I have to turn that thought about debt into a thought about creating wealth.

It is hard to do that though, when we continually allow ourselves to get caught up in drama and negativity, which is absolutely everywhere nowadays. It's plastered all over many of our favorite TV shows (especially reality TV), it's in a lot of the music we listen to, in movies, in books, the list goes on and on.

So for the next 3 days I want all of us to focus really hard on surrounding ourselves with positive thoughts. Read a self-improvement book (or listen to one on your ipod). Watch a positive movie. Listen to upbeat positive music. Surround yourself with positive people.

What you will notice at the end of the 3 days is just how often and in how many ways negativity tries to enter your life and how much better your life is when you are conscious of what you allow to indoctrinate yourself.

Stay Positive, Stay Focused!
