What is it that makes a true leader stand out? Makes them someone you want to be around? Someone that you just can't say "no" to? Someone who can captivate a room full of stone faced critics and naysayers?
While there are many correct answers to this question... energetic, passionate, etc.. Different leaders have different levels of these qualities but their is one characteristic they all share in common. In one word, the answer is meaning. True leaders focus on providing real meaning in everyones life they meet.
When we focus on putting meaning and value into peoples lives, we
naturally draw that exact same thing from them, into our lives, and it happens effortlessly. One of my favorite quotes is from Bob Bly "Don't focus on how you can succeed in business. Focus on how you can help your customers succeed. If you make a positive difference in their lives, your success will follow naturally".
Let's take that one step further and focus on how we can help EVERYONE succeed. Be a positive force in everyones life. Support them, root for them, and watch as your own success explodes.
